Changes and Updates to DNA Services
Angus Australia, in association with Zoetis and Neogen, is pleased to announce the introduction of a new “Standalone Full Genetic Test Panel” when DNA testing.
This standalone test will include all 11 Genetic Conditions and Traits;
- Arthrogryposis multiplex (AM)
- Contractual arachnodactyly (CA)
- Developmental duplications (DD)
- Dwarfism (DW)
- Horns (HH)
- Alpha-mannosidosis (MA)
- Muscular hypertrophy (MH)
- Neuropathic hydrocephalus (NH)
- Oculocutaneous hypopigmentation (OH)
- Red gene (RG)
- Oesteopetrosis (OS)
The “full genetic test panel” is suited to testing influential animals within a breeding program, such as sires or donor dams.
For members who have already had a full genomic profile tested but require the genetic conditions this will certainly be a better solution.
Zoetis have also introduced a new standalone Horns (HH) test. Previously this test was only available through Neogen. This will now give members the option to choose between the two labs of their preferred choice.
The fee schedule for 2023 with an updated list of the DNA services offered by Angus Australia and their associated pricing, is provided below or from the Member Forms section of the website.
Please note that there has also been some price increases for some of the services and tests being offered.
The increases that have been made are for the following tests;
- Price increase for Neogen Angus HeiferSELECT
- $38.77 ex GST
- $42.65 inc GST (from $40.45)
- Price increase for Neogen Base Panel
- $28.45 ex GST
- $31.30 inc GST (from $30.25)
- Price increase for all of Neogens’ 11 standalone genetic conditions and genetic traits
- $24.27 ex GST
- $26.70 inc GST (from $25.85)
