It is with great sadness that Angus Australia acknowledges the passing of Pat Stewart of Dunlop Park Angus, Tasmania, a respected member in the Angus community who alongside her husband Bruce, was the inspiration behind the Angus Australia Stewart Award.
This award was named in their honour to recognise the countless contributions they made selflessly to the Angus Youth program. Each year, Pat and Bruce travelled to Wodonga to support the Angus Youth National Judging Competition, offering invaluable assistance and unwavering support. From transporting participants to ensuring smooth operations by handling lunches, managing judging cards, and offering guidance, Pat’s presence and dedication were a cornerstone of the event.
Pat’s enduring commitment to the breed and her tireless dedication to to the Angus Youth program has left an indelible mark on the industry.
Pat’s legacy lives on through the Stewart Award, created in hers and Bruce’s honour to celebrate those who embody their spirit of generosity and commitment to the Angus breed. Angus Australia extends its heartfelt condolences to Pat’s family, friends, and the Tasmanian Angus community.
A service for Pat will be held on Friday November 8th, at the family’s local church where Pat was the organist for over 70 years.
