Dwarfism (DW) is a non-lethal genetic condition recognised in a number of species, including humans.
The condition causes the unusually or abnormally low statured or size of animals.
Dwarfism can be caused by both environmental and genetic effects. With a number of pathways for both environment and genetic factors known to cause dwarfism.
There are many different variants of dwarfism of which one is monitored by Angus Australia and is controlled by the PRKG2 gene. Responsible for D2 Dwarfism the gene is controlled by a simple recessive mutation.
