EJ Angus Encouragement Award
To be considered for the EJ Angus Encouragement Award, a participant must exhibit the following attributes:
- A willingness to participate
- Show potential in the areas of clipping and fitting
- Compete in a fair and equitable manner
- Be interested in contributing to the Angus Youth Movement
The winner of this award receives a set of clippers. All Roundup participants are eligible for this award.

Merridale Angus Aspiring Breeder Award
The Merridale Angus Aspiring Breeder Award is in recognition of an Angus Youth member who does not already have an Angus stud or the financial backing to start their own immediately but has a strong desire to breed their own Angus cattle. The Collin’s family believe it is important to support the youth in the industry and give them as many opportunities as possible to start their own cattle breeding operation. The recipient of this award will receive a registered Angus heifer from the Merridale Angus stud. All Roundup participants are considered for this award.

Matthew George Citizenship Award
Matthew George was a keen cattleman who was tragically killed in a car accident. This award is presented in his honour to someone who displays good cooperation and goes out of their way to help others at the Roundup. The winner receives a $500 educational subsidy to put towards an activity of their choice. This award is proudly sponsored by the Victorian Angus State Committee. All Roundup participants are considered for this award.

Senior Bursaries
Senior Competitors who are over 18 are given the opportunity to apply for a bursary to be used towards educational studies or tours. The bursary is valued at $800 and can be used for things such as course fees, conference fees, travel and accommodation.
Intermediate Bursaries
Intermediate Competitors who will be 16 as at the dates of the Tocal Beef Cattle Assessment Course (i.e. December 2025) are given the opportunity to apply for a bursary to attend the Tocal Beef Cattle Assessment Course. This award provides the recipient with $800 to cover the entry fee for the course. The course covers a wide range of topics ranging from using EBV’s, structural conformation and selection of market utilising Bos Taurus and Bos Indicus breeds and their crosses and will help participants through developing practical skills and information, presenting networking opportunities.
The Angus Australia Business Branding Award
This award is designed to help an Angus Youth Member either with a business or in the process of starting their own business to create a visual identity for their brand. The recipient of this award will receive a branding package comprised of a custom logo design, five (5) professionally designed images for digital marketing, business card design, one half page advertisement which will be published in the Angus Bulletin and a case study of the creative process and recipient promoted by the Angus society.

2025 NH Foods Angus Youth National Roundup Marketing Competition
Target Livestock and Branded Ag Marketing have teamed up to provide the opportunity for Roundup participants to build their networks, meet new people and enrich their knowledge of the Australian beef industry.
Participants are encouraged to reach out to businesses/breeders — including but not limited to — stud or commercial breeders, breed association members, feed companies, reproduction service providers, butchers/meat processors and any other business/professional involved in the agricultural industry. The focus is on building an authentic connection and understanding of the business/breeder of your choice and work to create a submission that promotes and shares their products and/or services to the wider community. Winners of each age group will receive a cash prize.
SENIORS:
Option 1: Create a 5-7 minute video interview with a person representing the business or breeding program of your choice. Explore the important information about the business, their background, their vision and how they are making a positive impact/contribution in our agriculture industry. Aim to gain a deep overview of their program, what makes them unique/differentiated in the market and how they work to build the future of their business.
Option 2: Create a 5-7 minute podcast interview with a person representing the business or breeding program of your choice. Explore the important information about the business, their background, their vision and how they are making a positive impact/contribution in our agriculture industry. Aim to gain a deep overview of their program, what makes them unique/differentiated in the market and how they work to build the future of their business.
SUB INTERS & INTERS:
Option 1: Create a 2-4 minute video where you explain or describe your chosen business/breeding program. Include important information about the business, their background, vision and how they are making a positive impact/contribution in our agriculture industry.
Option 2: Design a 2-3 page advertorial story for the business/breeding program of your choice. Include important information about the business, their background, vision and how they are making a positive impact/contribution in our agricultural industry. Be sure to include pictures and create an eye-catching design.
PEE WEE & JUNIORS:
Option 1: Design a 1 page ad that would run in a newspaper or magazine to promote the business/breeding program of your choice. Include 5 important points about the business, what they do and how they work. Don’t forget to include some pictures.
Option 2: Write a ½ – 1 page story on your chosen business or breeding program. Include 5 important points about the business, what they do and how they work.
