Applications Open for Angus Foundation Scholarships to Attend Feeder Steer School 2.0

The Angus Foundation is proud to offer two scholarships to attend the highly anticipated Feeder Steer School 2.0, hosted by the University of New England (UNE). This unique, three-day event will take place from February 10 to 13, 2025, at UNE’s Armidale campus in New South Wales.

About Feeder Steer School 2.0

Feeder Steer School 2.0 is an invaluable opportunity for beef industry stakeholders, including producers, backgrounders, lot feeders, livestock agents, and service providers, to gain practical knowledge and insights into the beef value chain. Participants will engage in interactive workshops, presentations, and networking sessions, covering topics such as:

  • Genetic selection for profitability
  • Animal health, biosecurity, and feedlot adaptation
  • Carcass value, yield optimization, and industry projections
  • Risk management strategies for variable climates

The program promises hands-on learning and collaboration with leading experts in the field.

Scholarship Inclusions

Each scholarship, valued at $550, covers the full registration fee, which includes:

  • Attendance at the three-day Feeder Steer School 2.0 program
  • Three nights’ accommodation
  • All meals during the event

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be aged between 18 and 30 years
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in the beef industry
  • Show a commitment to personal and professional growth
