We are excited to announce the first of two teams from Canadian Angus will be joining the Zoetis World Angus Youth Competition in 2025. As one of two teams from Canada, team ‘Canada Eh’ bring a wealth of talent, enthusiasm, and passion for the Angus breed to this prestigious global competition. 

Representing the heart of Canada’s cattle industry, the ‘Canada Eh’ team is eager to showcase their skills and knowledge in a series of high-energy challenges, all while learning from and connecting with young leaders from around the world. The team’s participation is a testament to the strength and unity of the global Angus community, reinforcing the shared goals of advancing the breed, strengthening the beef industry, and nurturing future leaders. 

Throughout the event, the Canadian teams will be faced with a variety of challenges designed to test their expertise in genetics, cattle management, and sustainable practices.  

We look forward to seeing the teams from Canadian Angus represent their country and the future of the Angus breed, in 2025. Join us in welcoming them to this incredible experience as they aim to showcase their talent, build new friendships, and leave their mark on this global stage. 


MEET TEAM ‘CANADA EH’ 

Hillary Sauder – Team Captain 

Hillary is from a small town in Saskatchewan. Her family owns and operates Windy Willows Farms, a Purebred Black Cow ranch.  Hillary obtained her diplomas in Animal Science Technology and Agribusiness at Lakeland College In Vermilion, Alberta. She currently owns 30 head of her own females along with the rest of the herd. Hillary handles day to day operations at the farm and contributes to all management decisions.   She served on the Canadian Junior Angus Board for five years, two years as President. The cattle industry has always been a passion and she looks forward to exploring genetics worldwide. 

 

 

 


Julie Sharp 

Julie Sharp is from Lacombe, Alberta, Canada where her family runs Lindon Angus. She was the Robert C. McHaffie Canadian Angus Foundation Junior Ambassador from June 2023–June 2024, traveling across Canada representing Canadian Angus and Canadian Junior Angus at events and serving as a role model to younger juniors. She will graduate this December from the University of Saskatchewan majoring in Animal Science and minoring in Agribusiness. Since May 2024, Julie has been an Intern and Digital Communications Coordinator for the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef and will continue as their Member and Communications Coordinator after graduation. 

 

 

 


Thomas Wildman 

Thomas is the third Generation of the Wildman Family who have raised and registered Red and Black Angus Cattle for over 50 years as Towaw Cattle CO, just outside of Sangudo Alberta Canada. He was the breeder and part owner of the Canadian Red Angus Show Bull of the Year. Thomas has been a Canadian Junior Angus Director since 2021, He loves helping organize and run the Annual National show Showdown, as well as the annual junior conference GOAL.   Currently Thomas is living in Lloydminster Alberta and works as the sports director for the local TV Station Prime Time Local News, where he is the Sports Director, he also does numerous agriculture stories for his station to promote agriculture in the media.   Thomas looks forward to meeting and competing against all his fellow WAF competitors.

 

 


Kodie Doetzel 

Kodie Doetzel is from Lipton, Saskatchewan, Canada. He grew up in the cattle industry, both showing and raising purebred red and black angus with his parents on their family farm; Nu-Horizon Angus. After the completion of high school Kodie went to Hutchinson Community College in Kansas where he was a member of the livestock judging team. From there he transferred to South Dakota State University (SDSU) where their judging team was reserve national champions. Kodie obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science from SDSU. In 2021, he was honoured to be the awarded Canadian Junior Angus Stockman of the Year. Kodie views the World Angus Youth Competition as once in a lifetime opportunity where he is looking to build connections and be an advocate for the angus breed.
