Betty Williams from the Victoree stud at Glenrowan, peacefully passed away on December the 22nd. For 78 of her 93 years, Betty was surrounded by the Angus cattle family.
Both Betty and Harry embraced Angus cattle and the people that made it happen. The Dockers at bontharambo (who remain lifetime friends), the Sanderson’s from Walla, the Kahlua and Millong studs all provided the base for the Victoree herd. In 1947 three females and a bull from Scotland were imported.
From this base local and worldwide contacts became the norm with Betty’s home cooking and warm welcome being the centre of all farm visits. Betty treated all jackaroos and jillaroos as though they were her children and in little time they treated her as though she was their mother.
From the 60’s to the 80’s the stud entertained 13 Japanese jackaroos, many remained friends and recently the bull VVW N106 was named Nobu in honour of Nobu Koiede one of these jackaroos who has religiously contacted Betty for birthdays and Christmas ever since his time at Victoree
The Angus world uplifted both Betty and Harry providing with them travel, education, culture, humour, fun, and friends from everywhere for life.
The Williams family would like to thank the association for its ever inspiring service and their members for it’s custom, friendship and support to the Williams family at Victoree for the last 78 years.
A HAPPY AND SAFE CHRISTMAS AND A GREEN 2020 TO YOU ALL, BEST WISHES JO, ROB, HENRY, CHARLIE, BETTY, OLIVER AND ISABELLA. XX
