The latest webinar in the Angus ESSENTIALS series, ‘AI Programs’ will take place September 8th from 7pm AEST and tell you everything you need to know about using reproductive technologies in your herd. 

While the webinars are released after each session, joining live means that you are able to directly interact with Angus Australia staff and ask any of those burning questions you may have! 

The Angus ESSENTIALS webinar series is designed to be a starting point for people considering the registered cattle business and for new members to Angus Australia to understand the full range of breeding and genetic tools or existing members to brush up on their knowledge and skills.  The series will provide information and advice from leading industry speakers for attendees to learn how to extract the most value out of breeding decisions, registrations and record keeping, genetic evaluation and creating practical performance recording and genotyping strategies, conducting artificial breeding programs through to the considerations of marketing and preparing for sale.  

The Angus ESSENTIALS webinars will be hosted via ZOOM, with registration required to attend.

Enoch Bergman – Swans Veterinary Services 

Enoch Bergman is a practicing veterinarian and part owner of Swans Veterinary Services located in Esperance WA where he primarily provides bovine veterinary services, consulting to a range of beef producers, ranging from breeding enterprises to lot feeders, as well as to other veterinarians. He has served as President of the Australian Cattle Veterinarians (ACV) and is a leading expert in the systematic management of the disease Bovine Pestivirus. Enoch is also well known for his “Building a Better Cow” series, which focuses on the proactive management of heifers to improve lifetime breeding success including strategies to improve reproductive efficiency through the integration of Fixed Time Artificial Insemination (FTAI) in their breeding programs. 

As an incredibly in-demand, knowledgeable and entertaining presenter, Enoch is a passionate advocate for the Australian beef sector and a vocal proponent of the veterinary industry’s role in supporting it. 

 

 Julie Pocock – Repro360 

Julie is not a new face to seedstock production. In addition to her role as Qld & NSW Territory Manager for Repro360, she also runs a successful seed stock operation and is involved in showing and judging cattle all over Australia and overseas. 

She has worked as a Veterinary-Nurse and Practice Manager as well as for Animal Health Companies where she worked across many species, such as poultry, small animals and sheep to horses and cattle. Her background and current work with Repro360 give her unique insight into and understanding of the medical challenges faced by producers, and the ways to prevent and treat these.  

Julie’s vast experience and practical understanding means that she is a go-to for practical, on the ground advice for running a successful AI program. 

 

Anthony Pearce – Hills Farm Supplies 

Anthony’s broad and well-rounded experience, which encompasses seedstock production in both Brangus cattle and Suffolk sheep, ruminant nutrition and pasture agronomy have all culminated in his role as a co-managing partner of Hills Farm Supplies, Mount Barker, South Australia. His consultancy and knowledge of such a broad range of topics have resulted in him being regarded as quite the guru. 

His passion is evident when he talks about the benefits of getting the basics right – particularly when it comes to reproductive performance.
