We are excited to welcome a team from the Czech Republic to join us for the 2025 World Angus Forum Youth Competition! This international gathering celebrates the next generation of Angus enthusiasts and cattle industry leaders, and we are proud to have the Czech team bringing their enthusiasm, skills, and knowledge to the event. 

The World Angus Forum Youth Competition will be an inspiring showcase of young talent and dedication to Angus cattle. Each team brings unique perspectives and experiences, making it a fantastic opportunity to learn from one another and to celebrate the passion for Angus cattle on a global stage. 

The Czech team’s participation highlights the forum’s theme, Beef for a Better Planet, as young leaders from around the world come together to advance sustainable practices and innovation in beef production. We look forward to seeing the Czech team’s contribution to the competition and witnessing the camaraderie that forms among competitors from different nations.

 Jan Borovka was born on April 19, 2003, in Chlum, a small village in the Czech Republic. Jan is 22, and currently studies crops and cattle breeding at the University of South Bohemia. Jan’s family started farming in 2008 with just three Angus cows and has since grown to a 50-cow operation focusing on genetics, with a special interest in Canadian and American genetics. Jan has travelled worldwide to learn from other Angus breeders, including a significant experience at Hamilton Farms in Canada. 

 

 

 

 

 


Kateřina Podzemná, hails from Ostrava, the third-largest city in the Czech Republic, and began her journey with cattle in high school, where Kateřina studied veterinary science. Kateřina has shown cattle internationally in Canada, Italy, Belgium, France, and Slovakia, and has gained valuable experience in breeding and animal reproduction. Working as a veterinary technician in Austria, Kateřina continues to pursue new opportunities in the field, living by the quote, “I never lose. I either win or learn.” 

 

 

 

 

 


Sandra Lišková, is 19 and brings a dynamic personality to the team. Her hobbies include horse riding, working with cattle, and sports. Sandra studies veterinary medicine at Brno, and her journey with Angus cattle began unexpectedly in 2017, sparking a passion for cattle shows. Sandra now helps with breeding on her stepdad’s farm and is eager to develop her skills and improve their herd. 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Eliška Němcová, 23, is a fifth-year veterinary student from Děčín. Eliška’s hobbies include sports, playing guitar, and spending time with animals, especially cattle. She has been involved in track and field for ten years and has achievements in competitions. Eliška’s family farm raises Limousin cattle, and is committed to becoming a veterinarian specializing in ruminants while continuing her family’s farming legacy.
