Angus Australia and some of its R&D collaborators were on show at the recent Livestock Genetics Forum, hosted by Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) in Adelaide.
The forum featured speakers from throughout the supply chain and research organisations presenting on a range of topics including: how producers can use breeding values to prepare to capture benefits from objective carcase measurement and associated pricing signals, how genetics needs to become part of the future tools the industry can use to help tackle variable climate, what new traits are being investigated, how producers are changing their breeding programs and as well as a panel discussion on the big issues the industry will need to adapt to.
Beef and Sheep Methane Projects (Sam Clark – UNE)
Breeding for Immune Competence (Brad Hine – CSIRO)
Value Genetics along the supply chain (Keith Howe – Rangers Valley)
