New Zealand’s Team Infinity Ready to Take on the Zoetis World Angus Youth Competition

The Zoetis World Angus Youth Competition, a highlight of the 2025 Neogen World Angus Forum, will bring together the next generation of Angus industry leaders from across the globe. Among the teams set to compete is Team Infinity, proudly representing New Zealand.
Comprising some of New Zealand’s brightest young cattle enthusiasts, Team Infinity is ready to showcase their skills, knowledge, and passion for the Angus breed on the world stage. This competition offers a unique opportunity for participants to engage in hands-on challenges, educational experiences, and global networking, all while competing against top young cattle experts from around the world.
With a strong foundation in the New Zealand beef industry, Team Infinity embodies the dedication and innovation that make Angus such a dominant force in global beef production. As they prepare to take on this prestigious competition, they are eager to connect with fellow competitors, expand their knowledge, and proudly represent their country and the New Zealand Angus community.

MEET THE TEAM
Hannah Devery, from Tuatapere, New Zealand, was born and raised on her family’s sheep and beef farm, where they run a Pikoburn Angus operation. After finishing school, she attended Telford, an experience she found invaluable in building her agricultural knowledge. Since then, she has gained considerable experience through various seasonal work within the agriculture sector. With a strong understanding of the industry and a deep respect for animals, which have always played a significant role in her life, Hannah is eager for the opportunities that the 2025 Neogen World Angus Forum will bring, both before and after the event.
James Armitage has grown up on farms across Southland, gaining valuable experience in livestock management. He secured a shepherding role at North Range, where he continues to develop his skills. James is highly involved in dog trialing, which has helped him refine his stockmanship and ability to read livestock effectively. A significant achievement for him has been competing in rodeo events, earning placings in his first few competitions.
Lindsay Johnstone, 19, currently works on a finishing farm in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. Originally from Whanganui, Lindsay grew up on Ranui Angus, an Angus stud, where a passion for the cattle industry was first developed. This strong foundation in breeding and livestock management has shaped Lindsay’s interest in the beef sector, providing valuable experience in cattle production.
Thomas Hayward, 21, is from New Zealand and grew up on his family’s farm, where he played an active role in developing their Twin Oaks Angus Stud. Currently in his third year at the University of Canterbury, he is pursuing a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Operations and Supply Chain Management. Beyond his studies, Thomas has been involved in the 2022 New Zealand Youth Parliament and has gained valuable industry experience working as a legal assistant at Central Plains Water Ltd, an irrigation company servicing approximately 45,000 hectares on the Canterbury Plains. This summer, he is further expanding his expertise as a Supply Chain Intern at ANZCO Foods.
