Hold onto your hats! The Angus Youth National Roundup is officially back on the calendar.
The Roundup Organising Committee is pleased to announce that the Angus Youth National Roundup will return January 10-14, 2024, at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (AELEC) in Tamworth, NSW.
The Angus Youth National Roundup is the largest single breed event of its kind in Australia and is unique in that those participants without animals of their own can be provided animals in order to be able to take part in the event. This ensures that as many people as possible have the opportunity to get involved with the event and the great learning environment it promotes.
In addition to the staple educational experiences and practical competitions such as herdsman, junior judging and paraders that are a tried-and-true testament to Roundup tradition, there are several excellent awards on offer at the event, including the Merridale Angus Aspiring Breeder Award, EJ Angus Encouragement Award and the Matthew George Citizenship Award.
Roundup Event Coordinator Toni Nugent is returning to her role in 2024 and looks forward to bringing together young Angus enthusiasts from around the country for this excellent event.
“It’s great to be back and working with our committee and the Angus Australia team as we continue planning for Roundup 2024. We are excited to be heading north to AELEC in Tamworth, NSW in January next,” Toni said.
“The education program will again provide opportunities for our youth to learn about different aspects of the Australian beef industry, right along the supply chain. I love seeing the participants having fun, the big smiles on their faces and making great friendships — that’s what it is all about. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in Tamworth in January.”
Echoing this, 2024 Committee Chairperson Annie Pumpa is looking forward to putting on an exceptional event for attendees in January.
“I am ecstatic to work once again alongside Toni and the Roundup committee to bring together our Angus community for a hit event in Tamworth during January 2024. This year is going to be bigger and better than Wodonga, so you don’t want to miss out!” Annie said.
For the continued success of Roundup, it is imperative that we form connections with sponsors. If you and your business are looking to be involved in this exciting event through sponsorship opportunities, please get in touch with Toni or Annie to be at the forefront of investing in the future of our industry.
Entries for the 2024 Angus Youth National Roundup will open later over the coming months. Members are encouraged to keep an eye on the Angus Australia website and the Angus Youth Australia social media channels for updates regarding the 2024 Roundup.
