Jake Bourne  

Angus Australia is excited to announce the commencement of Jake Bourne today as Business Development Executive. Jake will be working with Angus Australia to build new business opportunities, particularly in the genomics field. Jake will be very well known to Angus Australia members, as a former Genetics Specialist with Zoetis Australia. Previously, Jake has worked with Zoetis, RuralCo and Fort Dodge. He has specialised in performance animal systems and has a wealth of experience.  

Jake will be available to commercial and seedstock members to maximise the potential of Angus HeiferSELECT, Angus SteerSELECT and other tools.   

CEO Scott Wright said, “Jake’s appointment is an important development and allows Angus Australia to service our members with genomic technologies, particularly in the commercial industry. We see his appointment as critical in aligning our seedstock and commercial member needs.”  


Christian Duff  

Angus Australia would also like to announce that Christian Duff (General Manager Genetic Improvement) has resigned from Angus Australia to take up another very important industry role. Christian has been appointed Chief Operating Officer with ABRI.  

Christian will join Anita Kauffmann to work together to create a more positive future for ABRI. Christian is no stranger to ABRI, having spent a number of years in that organisation previously. We thank Christian for his fine service and dedication to the Angus breed over the last ten years. We also look forward to him making a positive impact on the delivery of BREEDPLAN services, which are very important to Angus breed and the Angus membership.   

CEO Scott Wright congratulated Christian on his appointment, saying “We look forward to continuing to work with Christian and having a strong partnership with ABRI into the future.” 


Sam Hamilton  

In other news, Angus Australia is set to farewell Samantha Hamilton as she also takes up a role with ABRI.   

CEO Scott Wright said, “Sam has been an excellent employee, and we thank her for her service. We are very proud to see Sam go on to a more senior role at ABRI. While it is always sad to lose good people, we completely understand that people progress in their careers and take opportunities when presented. We wish Sam well in her new career.”
