Vale Life Member Vivienne Kerr

Angus Australia was saddened to hear of the passing of Life Member, Mrs Vivienne Kerr.

Mrs Kerr, alongside her husband Laurie founded the Tibooburra Angus Stud at Hoddles Creek in 1968 and before long, the Tibooburra name became synonymous with the Angus breed.

Tibooburra became the first Angus operation to win the Dalgety Commercial Herd of the Year in 1979.

At the second annual Angus Classic in 1978 (later known as the Angus National Show and Sale), held in Wodonga, Mrs Kerr purchased the top selling Angus bull Te Mania Uranium for $21,000, breaking previous Angus records by more than double.

In 2002 Mrs Kerr was recognised for her significant contribution to the Angus breed and Angus Australia when she was awarded a Life Membership to the Angus Society of Australia.

Her induction as a Life Member was in recognition of her dedication and commitment to the Angus breed in Australia. She was also recognised for her involvement in such groups as the Gippsland Angus Breeders Group and for the support of events in her local community.

Tibooburra Angus remains in the Kerr Family with son Peter and grandson Matthew Kerr at the helm.
