The 2017 Norman Lethbridge Award

October 4, 2017 7:00 am

Entries are now open for nomination in the 2017 Norman Lethbridge Award.

This is the sixteenth year of the award that is named in memory of the NSW State Committee’s secretary and well known stock and station agent, Norman Lethbridge.

The requirement for nomination is a student or a cadet, male or female over 16 and  under 25 years of age, who is studying an agriculture subject/s, livestock auctioneering or stock & station agency.  The applicant must reside in Sydney or within 200 kilometres of Sydney.

The NSW State Committee will not necessarily be looking for the most academic student or cadet but rather a person who shows their support to agriculture, someone who volunteers their services, who assists his or her peers and who is respected by them and  “a good all rounder”.  In effect the committee will require the student or cadet to be someone who with guidance would live up to Norman Lethbridge’s esteemed character.

The winner will receive a cash prize, complimentary junior membership to Angus Australia, the Norman Lethbridge Trophy, a scholarship to the three day Beef Assessment School at Tocal  and a Certificate of Achievement.  The presentation will be made during the Angus judging at the Sydney 2018 Royal Easter Show.  The award is sponsored by Booroomooka Angus Stud, Bingara.
